I was visiting Downtown St. Louis on a Tuesday around 2:00 pm as was wondering where all the cars were. Is it due to people telecommuting or is there fewer jobs downtown. On a Sunday morning, downtown is desolate, but that is understandable. But on a work day in the afternoon in the heart of a major city, no.

I took some random screen grabs while driving on Market Street, 4th Street and down Washington Avenue. And yes I probably favored the ones with the least cars showing to make a point. I had the lens on 70mm which can show about four blocks or four intersections in each image.

I know decades ago downtown was sometimes gridlocked on these streets during the week, especially during rush hour. I think I am just getting too old to be doing this 🙂 I think I may have turned into my Grandmother in the last 10 years or so. 🙂
