Virginia Giuffre, a well-known accuser of Jeffrey Epstein who alleged Prince Andrew abused her, revealed on Instagram that she was hospitalized after a car crash involving a school bus.
She shared a photo of herself in a hospital bed, her face covered in bruises, and wrote, “I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live.” However, Australian authorities appeared to dispute the severity of her injuries.
Giuffre claimed that a school bus traveling at 110 km/h (68 mph) struck her car as she slowed down to turn but did not specify when or where the crash occurred.
Her spokesperson, Dini von Mueffling, confirmed to CNN that Giuffre was involved in a serious accident and is receiving medical care, expressing gratitude for the support and well wishes.
Western Australia Police referred CNN to a report about a “minor” collision between a car and a bus near Perth on March 24, stating that the car sustained about $1,250 in damage, with no reported injuries.
A source familiar with the situation confirmed that Giuffre is currently hospitalized in Perth but is not in a life-threatening condition. While she does have visible bruising, she has not yet informed the hospital how she sustained those injuries.
Giuffre is one of the most well-known accusers of Jeffrey Epstein. She publicly claimed in 2019 that Epstein trafficked her and forced her to have sex with his associates, including Prince Andrew, when she was 17. She alleged the prince was aware she was underage in the U.S. at the time, accusations he has repeatedly denied.
In 2021, Giuffre sued Prince Andrew for alleged sexual abuse. The following year, they reached an out-of-court settlement for an undisclosed amount, with Andrew also making a donation to Giuffre’s charity supporting victims’ rights.
