I visited Art Hill at Forest Park Forever on Sunday February 4, 2022 and tried to capture some highlights with people snowboarding and sledding. I have never heard so much laughter which was so comforting.
I talked to a few people during my visit and they all were pumped up. Elishia, a young kid, said his favorite part of Art Hill was, “the middle.” Jody and Ray came straight from their contract job with coveralls on, a perfect fashion choice for the cold weather. They said the their favorite part of Art Hill was the, “Speed. We got the need for speed baby.” You could really pick up some speed going down Art Hill, so it was like a rollercoaster in that regard.
Parking wasn’t too bad really. Lots of coming a going, so it might take about 5 minutes for someone to leave. The lots are one way so it was really organized. You just drive around until someone leaves. I waited less than 5 minutes to get my parking space. Oh…parking is free. A few camp fires on the top of the hill helped warm people up it they got too cold. They used bails of hay at the bottom of the hill to keep people from going into the water.
