SOUTHSHORE  / RIVERVIEW, FL –  The Riverview 14 GDX Theatre and the inside eatery called Features Gastropub are now open at 10550 East Bay Road in in Gibsonton Square in Gibsonton, FL.

Gibsonton Square is a $20 million project that will be a convenient entertainment and retail hub for residence living in the SouthShore area.  See the site plans drawn up by the Strathmore Developing Company.

WHAT’S GDX? GDX stands for Giant Digital eXperience, and Riverview will have one of these along with 13 other smaller screens. The GDX theater will feature an 80 foot-wide, floor-to-ceiling screen and a Dolby Atmos multidimensional sound system with 50 speakers that you will literally feel.

Other tenants so far include Zaxby’s Chicken currently under construction, a T-Mobile, and a Dunkin’ Donuts.

RIVERVIEW GDX THEATER TIMELINE

APRIL 2015: The Riverview 14 GDX Theater has marked its future construction site with a sign displaying a rendering of the theater along Gibsonton Drive next to the I-75 southbound on-ramp.

SEPTEMBER 2015: YouTube video of excavator/shovel clearing trees and debris at the construction site of the Riverview 14 GDX Theater across from Walmart Supercenter on Gibsonton Drive.

DECEMBER 2015: Groundbreaking Ceremony Dec 3, 2015. Creates OFFICIAL Facebook page: facebook.com/GoodrichRiverview

JANUARY 2016: Permits approved on Jan 14, 2016 by Hillsborough County for Tri-North Builders to build Riverview 14 GDX Theater.

    When will traffic flow be restored to normal? Too many are not adhering to the ‘southbound lanes closed’ signs and barriers. It’s dangerous and exceedingly inconvenient, it’s been over a month now.
