Popeyes Chicken, Big Bend Rd, Riverview, FL

RIVERVIEW / SOUTHSHORE, FL – Popeye’s Chicken opened on October 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. on 10551 Big Bend Road in Riverview Florida.

See the new Drive-Through Menu with prices at the Popeye’s Riverview location.

Popeye’s has had a great turnout since opening day. So good that staff members had to help direct cars safely through the parking for few weeks after its opening day.

Other cars and work trucks had to park in the adjacent Winn Dixie parking lots to avoid the traffic.

The new Popeyes is next to the Winn Dixie shopping center in The Shoppes of Southbay along Big Bend, right next door to the 7 Eleven.

The construction of Popeyes (Chicken) Louisiana Kitchen started in the first week of April in Riverview, FL.

The construction manager in charge of the Big Bend project built the Popeyes in Sun City Center as well.

Popeye’s Chicken, Sun City Center Blvd, FL (opens)

RUSKIN / SUN CITY CENTER, FL – Popeye’s Chicken held their Grand Opening today (Dec. 21, 2015) at 10:30 am located next to Denny’s at 3763 Sun City Center Blvd in Ruskin, FL.

I spoke with a nice gentleman on Dec. 19, the day they put the Grand Opening date on the sign, that said they had to remove the tall trees that ran along SR-674 due to the new electric poles that were installed. The original trees would have been too close to the wires.

The same gentleman, also, mentioned that they made the parking lot at the Ruskin location a little bigger than the Big Bend Riverview location.

One of the friendly landscapers said the owner had them plant small growing trees away from the power lines.

The World’s Largest Food Truck Festival Ever 3! Tampa

TAMPA, Fla – World’s Largest Food Truck Festival Ever 3 drew almost 75 food trucks on March 28-29 at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

This is the third year in the making, presented by Jeremy and Candy Gomez from Generation Food Truck along with staff from the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Last year’s Food Truck Festival made history by setting a Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Food Truck Parade on March 29, 2014. Mr Gomez mentioned on Facebook that they, “had 202 food trucks from all over the country last year.”

This year’s event was more about the overall family experience and quality of the food rather than the number of trucks. Mr Gomez humbly wrote on Facebook, “No need to break our own record this year.”

This year the food trucks were comfortably spread out along the Fairgrounds. It was a family affair that included a fun zone for kids with inflatable slides, bounce houses and more.

On Saturday, there were over 13,000 people that attended the food event; Sunday’s count is still undetermined.

The event was wonderful and a special thanks to Jeremy and Candy for making this year’s event even better.

COST: Free Admission
PARKING: $6.00

Ribbon Cutting at 2020 Center, Kings Point, Sun City Center, FL

SOUTH SHORE/SUN CITY CENTER, FL – There was a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new 2020 Center in Kings Point, Sun City Center, FL. The 3 minute video above shows the ribbon cutting ceremony and a short tour of the new building.

The ceremony took place at Kings Point’s annual Spring Fling Festival that was held outside today (March 20, 2015) on the lawn at the North Clubhouse.

Jim Haggerty, president of the Federation of Kings Point Associations, held the big scissors while Vice President Wayne Musholte did the actual cutting with the smaller ones.

Vesta with the KP Board worked diligently to get this done and we all owe them a token of gratitude for seeing this through. The building is big and the gym, “Was like being in a candy store” said one of the fitness trainers earlier this morning.

2020 CENTER ALMOST DONE: 25,000 square feet
There is a 3,500-square-foot gym filled with state-of-the-art fitness equipment, one huge fitness/dance studio room and a smaller one to the left of the lobby. There is a full salon, meeting rooms upstairs and a class room with a full kitchen where residents can learn new recipes.

I didn’t photograph the whole building so there is more to see, especially in the salon section. A staff member told me that the building was still not completely done, however. Exact opening date for the residents will be announced by Vesta.

For more information you can call the Kings Point Clubhouse front desk at 387‐3439.
