METROPOLIS, IL – The Metropolis Public Library resides in a beautiful building at 317 Metropolis Street in Metropolis, IL.
Even though this library is nestled in a small town with population just over 6000, it stands toe-to-toe with with bigger-city libraries due to it’s high-tech format, a format that keeps hard copy books available on the shelves while offering digital versions and free WiFi as well.
The Metropolis Library also holds many community events throughout the year such as the Annual Farm Frenzy, a live event that entails local farmers volunteering their time to bring the farm to the library.
Farm Frenzy gives others a chance to stand next to these bigger-than-life machines used to churn dirt and harvest crops, crops that eventually end up on our dinner tables. There was a small petting zoo this year where the young and old gathered to pet the animals and experience what it’s like to be next to these beautiful creatures. It’s really awesome and a must see.
