We moved to Kentucky to be closer to family and I wanted to thank everyone that visited this site over the years. I wanted to let my few, but loyal, followers know that reporting about things coming to SouthShore has ended for photonews247.com but will continue at:
http://townielifemagazine.com/growing

I love SouthShore, especially Ruskin and Wimauma, since it reminds me of my childhood neighborhood in St Louis. It’s a place where you can still see clothes hanging outside to dry, small markets, family restaurants and mom-and-pop shops. It’s original and not yet inundated with franchises.

Communities being built across the nation, SouthShore included, are beautiful beyond words. But these new neighborhoods seem to be a catalyst for franchises that repeat themselves every few miles.

Now that I’m older, I often wonder about progress and the good and bad that come with it: new developments, the internet, robots making cars, robots making robots. Which reminds me of one of my favorite movie quotes in i-Robot when Detective Spooner (played by Will Smith) stated:

Robots building robots? Now that’s just stupid.

I love that quote. It always makes me smile when thinking about it. I will visit SouthShore now and then but reporting on this site has ended for the area since I have moved.

I have done many sites over the years but never had comments this polite and just plain nice. I can say that the people of SouthShore are truly a class act. I only had to delete a few comments that probably came from me after a bottle of Jack 🙂

My neighbors? Angels all! Some passed, some moved and some stayed.  I watched them all do selfless acts constantly over the years without ever wanting anything in return. This place was the closest thing to Heaven on Earth.

For all things coming soon and new to South Shore, you will need to subscribe to townielifemagazine.com. It’s a wonderful Magazine with Colleen at the helm.

She is the editor, writer and photographer for her blog. All that equates to hours of hard work and unrelenting dedication to her community. And she happens to be one of the most likable people you ever want to meet.

Please help keep this locally owned business alive in SouthShore by visiting her site often and by sharing it on social media. Stay informed with SouthShore’s exclusive magazine at: townielifemagazine.com

God bless you all….craig

  5. Craig,
Sorry to hear that you are leaving. I remember meeting you when we first opened “So, Fancy That!” in Sun City.
You came to the store to take pictures, to see what we were all about, and to let the community know about us. I remember my Mom (Jackie) being the “ham” for you that day. Lol! Great memories, and thank you again. Best wishes for you and your family.
