Laclede’s Landing in St. Louis, where is everyone?

Downtown St. Louis has been losing residents for years and so has St. Louis county but not as much. On the flip side, St. Charles has been gaining people for decades and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. I remember back in the 80s when Laclede’s Landing was filled with people but there wasn’t a pandemic either.

I looked up the Census for St. Charles residences and it has gain 11.5% between 2010 and 2019. The City of St. Louis has deceased -5.9 and St. Louis County has decreased by 0.5%. This suggest that people are moving to St. Charles.

Although, we can’t prove that people are moving from the City of St. Louis to St. Charles, what we can conclude with these numbers is that people are moving out of the City of St. Louis in droves with no signs of slowing down either.
