Kim Gardner was the main topic on the new POINT BLACK radio show and pod cast with Adolphus Pruitt and Rev. Darryl Gray. As the first African American woman to hold the position, Gardner has faced criticism and opposition from various groups, including some members of the St. Louis legal community and law enforcement.
In 2020, former Circuit Attorney, Jennifer Joyce, said, “There are other reasons a qualified black attorney might stay away from the circuit attorney’s office. Public criticism can be especially harsh for black prosecutors.”
