Ace Hotel New Orleans coming to 600 Carondelet St

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Ace Hotel New Orleans is opening in mid-2016 in the newly renovated 1928 building at 600 Carondelet Street in the Warehouse District of New Orleans, LA.

The 234-room Ace Hotel will include a rooftop swimming pool, restaurant and bar. Portland Oregon based Stump Town Coffee Cafe has signed a leased in the mixed-use hotel complex.

Carondelet Partners LLC, a subsidiary of Domain Companies, purchased the property in 2013 for $5,450,271 from Central Properties Of LA, LLC according the Orleans Parish records.

NOPSI Hotel, coming to 317 Baronne St, New Orleans, LA

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The Nopsi Hotel with a bar and restaurant may be coming soon on 317 Baronne Street in New Orleans, LA.

Erik Wismar, owner of REJV8 Baronne LLCpurchased the property for $11,600,000 in January of 2015

Wismar attended The Central Business District Architectural Review Committee’s meeting at City Hall on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at City Hall to talk about the plans to renovate the existing hotel building.

The renovation project will include the NOPSI and adjacent Dryades and Gold buildings. The plans call for 217 guestrooms, bar, restaurant, main lobby, ballroom, meeting rooms, pool and a ninth floor open deck.

Wyndham Garden Hotel purchases Palace Theater, New Orleans, LA

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The owners of the Wyndham Garden Baronne Plaza Hotel purchased the old Loew’s State Palace Theater at 1105 Canal Street in November for $3.5 million on Canal Street in New Orleans, LA.

LC Hospitality Group LLC, registered to Chen Horng Lee and Chin Li Lee, bought the property on Nov. 17, 2015 according to records at the Orleans Assessor’s Office.

1031 Canal coming to New Orleans, LA

NEW ORLEANS, LA – 1031 Canal is a 17-story mixed-use luxury apartment tower currently under construction on the corner of Canal and N Rampart Streets in New Orleans, LA.

This is the former location of the old 1940s building where Woolworth’s once resided, where the lunch counter demonstrations took place during the civil rights movement in the 1960s.

The building was in disrepair and was eventually demolished to make way for the new $70 million apartment highrise.

Canopy by Hilton New Orleans, coming to 1100 Tulane Ave

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Canopy by Hilton Hotel New Orleans will open in the 14-story Oil & Gas building after renovations are completed on 1100 Tulane Avenue in the Central Business District in New Orleans, LA.

Each Canopy locations reflect its neighborhood with local pop culture along with the neighborhood’s history. Renovations are slated to begin early 2016.

NOLA Lodging LLC were the developers that purchased the vacant property (since 2003) for $7 million in December 2014.

The Oil & Gas Building was completed in 1959 and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

In memory and with respect, the Rault Tower is where 6 people tragically died due to a fire on November 29, 1972.

Cambria Hotel New Orleans, 632 Tchoupitoulas St.

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Cambria hotels & suites is under construction in a former street-level parking lot located at 632 Tchoupitoulas Street in the Warehouse District of New Orleans, LA.

The new Cambria by Choice Hotels will be 7-stories with 162 rooms featuring a Social Circle™ bistro and a bar on the ground floor.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held on November 12, 2015 on the property. Opening is slated for Spring of 2017 if everything goes as planned.

California Building, residential and retail coming to New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, LA – DEC 4, 2015: The historic 9-story California Building is being renovated by Malin Construction Inc into residential and retail space on Tulane Avenue in New Orleans, LA.

Construction plans includes 230,000 sq ft with 167 residential apartments along with street-level retail space slated to be completed in 2016 at a cost of $24 million.

Marriott Hotel moving into former University of New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, FL – DEC 4, 2015: The former University of New Orleans (UNO) building on Canal Street was purchased by NewcrestImage LLC, a hotel development firm based in Texas.

NewcrestImage has plans to renovate the 13-story UNO tower into two hotels:

  1.  TownePlace Suites by Marriott with 105 rooms (for extended stays)
  2. SpringHill Suites by Marriott with 78 rooms (for 1 or two night stays)

The two hotels will share the same common areas such as the registration desk, lobby, breakfast area, bar, exercise room and laundry room to name a few.

The building has been vacant since Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005. The two hotels are slated to open by December 2016 if everything goes as planned.
