DOWNTOWN/TAMPA, FL – AUG 24, 2015:  The Cass Street Drawbridge, a Bascule type bridge, was built in 1926 over the Hillsborough River in Downtown Tampa, FL.

The adjacent rail bridge is a rolling lift bridge (Pegasus) built in 1915 that replaced the 1880s turning span or swing bridge.

The bridge connects the Straz Center For Performing Arts to the Tampa Prep School side of the river.

The bridge was named after General Lewis Cass, who served under President Andrew Jackson from 1931 to 1836 as Secretary of War.
