Below are photos taken with a Canon PowerShot SX710 HS on Jan 9, 2017 in New Orleans, LA. The Canon SX710 HS is point-and-shoot under $200 that fits in your pocket and very easy to use.
The shots below were all taken in Auto Mode to give myself and others an idea of what kind of quality this camera can achieve without the worry of settings while on the go.
I pushed the camera to its limit while trying to take photos at night. As you can see by the photos, this is not a good night time (or low light) camera. But for under $300 it’s does pretty well.
Lately I have been pricing DSLR cameras that can achieve remarkable results in low light, but I just can’t seem to justify the cost so far. Are DSLR cameras worth the price? Yes. The detail you get with a DLSR full-frame vs an under-$300 point-and-shoot are like night and day.
