SUN CITY CENTER / SOUTH SHORE, FL – MAY 11: It was early morning, just before 7am, with the lights still off at Ace Hardware in Sun City Center Plaza.
I was there mainly to get some pictures of the newly renovated store before it opened, before any cars or people could obstruct the view of the building.
To my surprise, a few seconds after getting out of my car, the lights turned on. I didn’t see anyone inside, as far as I could tell, so I started clicking away.
While taking some final shots, a very nice gentleman came out and greeted me with a smile.
We shook hands and introduced ourselves. The gentleman turned out to be Eddy, a 12-year manager for Ace Hardware, now managing the Sun City Center location.
We started talking a bit and then Eddy asked in an upbeat way, “Would you like a cup of coffee?” I said with a smile, “No thank you, I got some in the car” as I pointed at it.
Eddy said, “They are stocking items exclusively for Sun City Center and ridding items that are not needed.” He mentioned that he really appreciates all the support from his new neighbors and from all the local newspapers as well.

I have never been offered a cup of coffee at the big-box stores nor greeted so graciously. I will shop here to pay it forward so to speak.
