This video was created with the Sony Time Lapse App on a Sony A7 camera. The individual clips were unedited and spliced together in Windows Movie Maker which is free software. The music was provided by YouTube’s Audio Library which is free as well.

I have been learning there are so many ways to create a time-lapse video. Some phones and cameras like the Cannon SX710 creates these right in the camera.

Here is what I used to create this one

Full Frame VS point-and-shoot during the day

Below are almost identical photos taken in day light with two different cameras: the Sony A7 full frame camera ($1000) and the Canon SX710 HS point and shoot ($250).

I was amazed when I found little variance in quality between the two. I have been doing comparison tests and wanted to share the outcome with others.

Since comparing both cameras, I have been noticing that in good lighting situations, photos taken with the Cannon SX710 HS match up pretty well with the Sony A7. But in low light situations, the Sony A7 does remarkably better.

Is the A7 worth the money for night photography alone. To answer this, I have taken over 50 photos with the two cameras around dusk and night time at two different locations. I unintentionally created sample videos that compare the two and thought I would share them as well.

SONY A7: $1000 (this is an older version that’s much cheaper)
CANNON SX710: $250 (older version as well)

Traffic in Sun City Center, FL (SR-674)

SOUTHSHORE / SUN CITY CENTER, FL – Sun City Center Blvd (SR-674) has picked up some traffic over the years along with longer wait times at stop lights.

I noticed around 1:00 pm, a day after publishing this page, I was in a line of cars backed up past Taco Bell waiting for the light at 674 and Kings Boulevard. Google calculates this distance around 9/10s of a mile. Surprisingly, the wait time was not that bad really; especially if you have a good song playing on the radio.

The video below features traffic at the U.S. Post Office in Sun City Center Plaza and at different locations along SR-674. The video is meant more for entertainment but does read ‘Caution’ when visiting our Post Office.
