  1. Honestly what we need is a Michaels Craft store, a PetSmart, and a Barnes and Nobles. Maybe even a SkyZone indoor trampoline park, since there are so many kids in the area.

  2. I would love to see some variety places such as Evos and old navy , Ross, and on Gibsonton /301 need a Starbucks instead of so many Dunkin’ Donuts.

  3. I guess we as the people need to attend these meeting and start voting about what is happening in our area or we will continue to be disappointed.

  4. We need the Crunch gym to open ASAP!! Especially with all the unhealthy food places down here!! I would love to see an Outback though!!

  5. Would love a sit restaurant like olive garden , outback, red lobster, chilli’s,even cracker barrel hope they come soon instead of always going to Brandon for dinners

  6. looking forward to trying it. not driving 45 miles south to the closest one. about time. for all you who have a wayback burger or redrobin or olive garden local you are lucky. i gotta drivve 40 miles to get to one. crazy.

    1. Way back is only about 10 miles from big bend 301 area
Even culvers is between 20-30 miles depending if you go to Bradenton or Tampa

    1. someone told me the lack of available liquor licenses is what’s holding up chain restaurants in the southshore area. not sure if that’s true, but it makes sense.

Hi Daniel. I heard this as well. A while back there was talk about a Chile’s coming to the Cypress Village shopping center in Sun City Center but was unable to get a liquor license. Thanks for commenting…craig

      1. Not sure how the liquor license works but apple bees and beef obradys serve alcohol on the same area
How this places where able to get it ?

        1. (found with a quick Google from http://www.liquorlicense.com/florida.php)

Q: What kind of license do I need to sell alcoholic beverages?

A: If you wish to sell beer or wine, you can apply for a consumption-on-premise license or a package license. There are no restrictions on the number of licenses issued to sell beer and wine. If you wish to sell liquor, a quota license must be purchased from another license holder. These are limited in number throughout the state, based on county population.

The last two sentences above probably have something to do with situations a chain might run into when trying to enter this area. Fast food will not run into the problem, and quick service restaurants are likely easier to stand up and operate as far as investment, but I wouldn’t know firsthand.

Thank you for clearing this up. I had no idea they were limited and this valuable. Thank you very much…craig

  7. We do need more sit down restaurants around here. I did read one will be built next to Culver’s. I’m just hoping sometime soon we will get an Outback or Longhorn or Olive Garden. Something decent…..heck I’d love a Red Robin. Just tired of only fast food choices around here.

    1. There are plenty of locally owned restaurants that deserve your patronage. Much better food than chain restaurant junk like Red Robin, Outback, Olive Garden, etc.

      1. I agree
Only problem is some of them don’t have extended hours or sometimes the capacity to handle to many people at once
I love that little Cuban place by beef o Brady’s but I think they are closed by 6

  8. Oh man really
What the hell is wrong with Riverview
Every food joint that opens up is the same junk
We need a nice restaurant so tired of driving 30 + minutes to have a decent meal
Do we really need Taco Bell,Tijuana flats,Quedoba and Chipotle within a mile radius
