DOWNTOWN TAMPA, FL – AUG 17: Tampa’s first paved sidewalk was done in 1888 and a portion of the original were placed on the sidewalk along Kennedy Blvd outside Tampa’s Municipal Office building.

The original sidewalk was built by City Council Member and Baker, Archibald Ross, who used Georgia Marble to pave the southeast corner of Franklin and La Fayette where his brick building was.

This section was preserved by the Tampa Historical Society and the City of Tampa. See location and get directions on Google Maps
