RIVERVIEW / SOUTHSHORE, FL – Popeye’s Chicken opened on October 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. on 10551 Big Bend Road in Riverview Florida.

See the new Drive-Through Menu with prices at the Popeye’s Riverview location.

Popeye’s has had a great turnout since opening day. So good that staff members had to help direct cars safely through the parking for few weeks after its opening day.

Other cars and work trucks had to park in the adjacent Winn Dixie parking lots to avoid the traffic.

The new Popeyes is next to the Winn Dixie shopping center in The Shoppes of Southbay along Big Bend, right next door to the 7 Eleven.

The construction of Popeyes (Chicken) Louisiana Kitchen started in the first week of April in Riverview, FL.

The construction manager in charge of the Big Bend project built the Popeyes in Sun City Center as well.

  1. I went there last night and my food was awlful….this morning I called to get a refund of my order and the on duty manager “Sandra” was hell of rude had no manger expertise what so ever and did not let me speak just kept over talking me and very rude I will be getting in contact with there district/corporate rep…. Pretty bad service for them only being open for a few months.

  2. Does anyone know if there are plans to build a decent hotel (i.e. Marriott ) here in the south Shore area of Hillsborough county? This area is growing very fast but we don’t have any nice hotels nearby. Please planning committee, please.

  4. Wish someone would bring back Frisch’s Big Boy. I eat at one everytime I am in Ohio. There is one close to airport and I get my hubby 2 buddy boys that they wrap several layers of foil for the 2 hour flight home. There use to be 3 in Tampa and 1 in Plant City. Would really like to see one here.

  5. Don’t know about ya’ll but I sit when I go to fast foods. Lol. However, I agree we need more decent restaurants. The only down to it is that southshore is growing and with that more traffic. Ugh.

  6. Tina…. You are SO right!!! That location would make a PERFECT place for a Cracker Barrel!!! Right of I75…. Lots of through traffic in that area…and I hear they have some serious growth planned between there and the Walmart…. Hopefully the rite people will take notice!!!!

  7. They need to do something with the strawberry barn off Gibsonton Dr and Fern Hill that would make a great crackle barrel. Or a large sit down dinner like FREDs..We need a breakfast place beside Village inn food sucks coffee is nasty..

  8. I so agree! I am tired of fast food and with the world turning toward more healthy diets I have been avoiding them like the plague. I would love to have a nice, decent restaurant where my family and I have a wide range of choices along with fresh unprocessed food. And some ambiance would just be icing on the cake!!! Many riverview residents still drive to Brandon or Tampa for decent food on a night out. We need a destination place!! Bring people from surrounding towns to us!!

  9. This is not good – why can’t we get something like Cracker Barrel. A sit down restaurant is what we surely need!!!!!!

      1. until the economy gets better?..um ok its been a decade since they bought the 5 acres for $1million dollars back in 2005 next to the Ruskin inn. how much better can it (the economy) get? either build or sell the land already. others are waiting to build and make money.

      2. Cracker Barrel can never build on the site they once owned in sun city due to contaminated ground since it was a auto junk yard for many years

        1. the spot on the map cracker barrel owns is in Ruskin next to the ruskin inn by racetrack. in the ruskin zipcode. not sun city. no autoyard was ever there. i have been here for 24 years. no junkyard was ever in that spot.

  10. This is a great opportunity to bring great restaurants and shops to this area. However, we keep getting two of the same stores, fast food restaurants, etc within miles from one another. WeDairy queen, all these dollar stores, now Wawa. Riverview needs some great sit down restaurants, Applebee’s is not enough.

    1. lol funny reply,,,, i’d like to see a panera bread here in Ruskin/Sun city. so many worthy places to open here.
