SOUTHSHORE / SUN CITY CENTER, FL – Aldi discount grocery store opened on December 15, 2016 at the corner of US-301 and SR-674 where Sun City Center and Wimauma meet in the SouthShore, FL area.

The new Aldi is one of three stores scheduled to open on Dec. 15 in Florida. The other two stores opening are in Miami and Gainesville.

The Aldi is on the same property where the former Village Plaza once stood before a demolition crew tore it down in April 2015 at the intersection of SR-674 and US-301.

According to Hillsborough County records, the property was purchased by Sun City Retail LLC. The land included a strip-mall, the Copper Penny, Boggs Jewelry and the Dentist office as well.

Aldi prices are similar to Lidl and Save-a-Lot, very affordable. Aldi carries their own brands and big name brands as well.

Sun City Center Retail LLC partnered with MQ Development for the Aldi project. An Aldi is being considered a few miles away at the corner of US-301 and Summerfield Crossing Blvd. in Riverview as well.
